Rise For Phoka (RFP) is dedicated to creating sustainable development in rural Livingstonia, Malawi, by empowering local communities through agriculture, education, and health programs. This month, we are running a campaign and hope that you will join us: A Bed for Every Girl: Help Furnish the Livingstonia Girls’ Hostel! 🛏️ At Livingstonia Community Day Secondary School, many girls are forced to sleep on the floor due to a lack of mattresses. The school enrolls 400 students, but only 250 attend regularly. The girls’ hostel, built for 60 students, currently houses only 35 girls, with most having to rent unsafe quarters near the trading center. Only 5 girls have mattresses brought from home, while the rest sleep on mats or the bare floor. 💙 Our goal is to raise K3,600,000 ($2,000) to purchase 60 mattresses, ensuring every girl has a clean, comfortable place to sleep and focus on her studies.
