Over the past five years, CCVS-Uganda has provided services to 3,060 individuals, 75% of whom were women, and reached more than 20,000 people through awareness-raising, Psychological First Aid, and resilience-strengthening interventions. In addition, over 500 community stakeholders were trained in basic mental health care, enabling them to identify and support people in need.
Our data shows significant improvements in clients' mental health, including reduced symptoms of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, behavioral problems, and substance abuse. More than 90% of clients reported achieving their therapy goals, such as improving family relationships, overcoming stigma, and participating in economic activities:
"I used to have flashbacks and physical pain. After therapy at CCVS, I began to notice positive changes. I was able to return to the garden, interact freely with my children, and start a small business. This helped me sustain my livelihood, and my relationships have improved tremendously." – Irene, 30 years old, Mucwini, Kitgum
