Africa Self-Help Assistance Programme (ASAP) is committed to cultivating self-reliance in Zimbabwe by working with poor and vulnerable communities to improve their lives. Through participatory approaches, ASAP promotes and facilitates socio-economic community empowerment projects and good governance, aiming to fulfill people's right to development and alleviate poverty.
Impact Areas
1. Financial Inclusion and Economic Empowerment: Through projects like Kufusha Mari 2 and Rural Microfinance Project 2, Self Help Group approach, ASAP has empowered marginalized communities, particularly women, to mobilize savings, engage in income-generating activities, and improve their livelihoods.
2. Education and Skills Development: Projects like Bridge the Gap in Mathematics (BTF) and Teach A Man to Fish (TAMTF) have enhanced educational outcomes and skills development, improving teaching and learning quality and providing vocational training.
3. Community Development and Empowerment: Projects such as Local Community Capacity Development Project (LOCOCAD) and Women's Self-Help Groups (SHG) have strengthened local governance, enhanced advocacy skills, and improved socio-economic rights awareness.
